Have 9 days to plan in South West of Ireland

We are travelling around the South West of Ireland from November 24 for 9 days.

I know it will be cold (we are from Australia).

And now, having searched for accommodation, I realise that alot of nice places are CLOSED!

We are happy to stay in a couple of places for three nights so we can really enjoy the area and submerge ourselves in the feel of the place.

We prefer quaint rather than busy places.

I am feeling Kenmare is one place we want to stay for at least two nights.

And I definitely want to stay around Dingle for two or three nights.

But, since it is our wedding anniversary and my birthday, I want the accommodation to be nice!

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Travelbugtoo - what point are you entering/leaving Ireland? Shannon (County Clare)? This would help put your journey in context.

We are entering and leaving through Dublin..............got a fantastic airfare of 3 pounds (plus taxes) from Edinburgh, where we will be for the following 9 days.

And tell me, is it REALLY that cold in late November/early December???

We also are going to be in Tipperary for a week.

My husband will be working around that area and I will be sightseeing by myself..................that will be interesting!!!!!!

Oh, and I don't want to stay in Dublin at all..........we will pick up the car from the airport and start our adventure down south straight away!

Irelands climate is one of the least variable in the world. As in our Summers are not that warm, and our winters are not that cold. Bring a jacket and an umbrella and you'll be grand!

Anyone with advice of where to stay?

I want places with atmosphere......log fires etc.

Should we just stay in one place and take day trips?

Heya Travelbugtoo

In Kenmare stay at the Brook Lane Hotel. It's divine! The main suite has an electric fire in it, so it will be very cosy, and it's a short walk into town. Highly recommended!
