Bus to Cork?

Hi. We will be staying in Blarney for one night, but would like go into Cork for dinner. Is public transit from Blarney to Cork (and back) easy? Is parking in Cork difficult? I'd love to just leave the car at our B&B in Blarney and take a bus if it's not a hassle. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

215 Bus Timetable www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1363793633-215.pdf Cant help much with eating options in the city (prefer a good pub grub setting) but someone will.

There is a nice restaurant in Blarney Castle Hotel/Blarney Woolen Mills.

We like eating in Scoozis in Cork, its relaxed, informal and generally good food. But it is very busy and you are usually waiting for a while. http://www.scoozis.ie/ http://www.scoozis.ie/contact_us.html

Cork city is full of great restaurants. No point listing them all here though. What are you looking for? Cheap 'n cheerful / Bistro / Oriental / Fine Dining / Casual? Let us know and we can help.

Some restaurants are listed here, but not all, however the list will give you an idea as to what is availalble.

A good idea to come up to the city for dinner, it's only a 25 minute bus trip right to city centre and last bus is about 11pm. Not to worry if you want to stay longer, taxis are plentiful and cost of taxi from city to Blarney is approx €20

I just checked with Blarney resident who told me that taxi from Cork to Blarney at night time is about €25, not €20

Another list from the Cork-guide.ie website.

Alas, it seems a little out of date (I'll tell them), but it does list almost all restaurants that I know of in the city.

Thanks everyone! I would say we're looking for bistro/casual-type places. Market Lane caught our eye, but we're open to suggestions. We'll only be in the area for 1 night, and we've heard great things about Cork's food scene, so figured we should come into the city for dinner. Thanks again!

Market Lane is very good (I was there yesterday, and have been a few times). The don't take bookings though. However they will take your mobile number and call you while you sip pre dinner drinks at nearby hostelries !!

Other places similar to Market Lane are:

Electric (5 mins from ML)

Italee (across the road from ML)

Bodega (10 mins from ML)

Amicus (Ditto)

Isaacs (Ditto)

LIberty Grill (Ditto)

Soho (Ditto)

Cafe Paradiso (gourment vegetarian - loved by non veggies !!)

That's only a few there are plenty more. You can't go wrong with any of them.

For a little more than Bistro

Jacques - recently voted best restaurant in Munster !!

Jacobs on the Mall

Greenes

Les Gourmandises

Enjoy.
