Donegal to Dungloe

Staying in Budoran for a few days this coming week - wondered how easy a journey it was from Donegal to Dungloe - how long would it take and is this a worthwhile journey?

As our time in the area is very limited wonder if this is the journey to make or whether there are some other "must" sees within an easy drive?

Always looking for nice ideas for eating out too - any suggestions greatly appreciated

There really isn't much to see in Dungloe. If you just want somewhere to go for a day trip then you could instead visit the cliffs at Slieve League and Glencolumbkille. Killybegs is a fishing port and you can get great fish'n'chips at the café. There is a boat which operates from the pier at Teelin that does two hour trips around to the cliffs, well worth a visit: www.sliabhleagueboattrips.com

Many thanks for your response. The trip you suggest by Slieve League - are the roads OK ? Or are they very narrow and twisted?

How long would it take to visit these places from Donegal?

Donegal roads in general are pretty good. From Donegal town you could easily fit the drive down to Killybegs and Sliiee League in an afternoon.
