Good restaurants with bring your own wine!

Do any of you know of a really good restaurant which is not too expensive where you can bring-your-own wine?

We will be staying at Isaacs hotel so somewhere within walking distance.

We like Indian/Italian/steak etc.

Thanks for your help.

Most city centre restaurants are not BYOB.

There are a few, but the ones I know of are on Parnell st/North King St. None of them are 'really good restaurants' and may not be the safest walk from where you are.

I think for really good food, you may have to shell out for drink in addition.

Hope I'm wrong...

i don't know about Dublin but I know in Galway a lot of the restaurants will let you bring your own wine if you call to alert them, but they will charge you for corkage.

Hi Dublinminx

Thanks for replying.

Is it not a safe area then? What should I be looking out for? You have me worried now!

Have a look here at range of cuisine, prices and geographical location of places to eat. Does not, as far as I know, address your BYOB question:

As for safety while in Dublin, check these out for general guidelines:

Nothing you don't know already, I'm sure. Locals will weigh in on the topic also, no doubt.

Enjoy your visit!

Missloyns, Dublin is as safe as any other city, if you excercise good street smarts. My only reservation was if I was directing you to some of the BYOB places from your Hotel. That might not be the safest walk.

Honestly the best places to eat in Dublin just dont have a BYOB option.

No need to be concerned though. There are tons of good places to go. Just let us know what your budget/prefered food type is, and I'm sure you'll get lots of options.

Keshk Cafe on Leeson St. cooks up tasty Med/Greek food and offers BYO and no corkage charged - they don’t have a wine licence but you can buy a nice bottle in the supermarket and they will serve it for free. Also Cafe Bliss, which is in an alley way across from the famous Whelans venue on Wexford Street offers BYO. It's also a cafe, but both are more like restaurants and serve really good meals. Cafe Bliss was closed for renovations the last time I passed by, but it should be re-opening soon.

Café Bliss is on Montague St., bit of a knockdown to call it an alleyway!
