Single room question

I did a search for the hotel I'm looking to stay at, Harrington Hall, and found lots of info but none on how the single rooms are. Is there a standard in Ireland? I'll admit, being from the US the concept is foreign to me; should I expect a small room with a twin bed? What is the difference between this and a double room? (Bigger bed, two twin beds?)

I found this on expedia for Harrington Hall:

Single room = One twin bed. Modern decor with Georgian–style furnishings. Satellite television, direct-dial phone, wireless Internet access, and coffee and tea facilities. Bathroom with shower/tub combination, complimentary toiletries and hair dryer.

In mamy cases the hotel rate is for the room (although I imagine that the last poster is post on) and many hotels will allocate twin beds if they do go with the single rate category.
