Bangers & Mash

Hello,

My fiance loves 'bangers and mash'; where is the best place in Dublin for this meal or is it good everywhere?

We'll be in Dublin in September for our honeymoon and he would love to try it there.

Thanks so much for your help!!

I am not quite sure where such a thing would be available, sausages are more usually served with chips.

Be sure to get Chef Brown Sauce!

Heaven on earth - some good sausages and brown sauce on toast.

Get the DART out to Dun Laoghaire, walk the pier then stroll up to the 'Gastro Pub' just renamed the Harbour Grill I think, on Marine Road where they serve fab Bangers & Mash with onion rings to boote.

Bangers and mash is more of an British institution than an Irish dish. In Dublin city centre you'll find them at Gruel in Dame Street, The Boxty House in Temple Bar and the Brazen Head in Bridge Street.

Green 19 on Camden St does lovely sausage and mash. http://www.green19.ie/GN01.swf.

Lots of more modern restaurants do a decent if slightly upmarket version. Green 19 is only 10 euro for all main courses. So good value too.

What the hell are bangers and mash?

Do you have a translation guy for cockney food?

I didn't realize it was that big in Dublin.

Thanks in advance.

Had my best Sausage & Champ in an old pub up by St James's Gate, cant remember the name but its on the main road beside the Storehouse painted red & black. Useless at pub names cant remember the one in Galway by the Spanish arch that does great B&M.
