Dublin Airport info

I am trying to arrange for transportation to and from the airport and am unsure of how much time to allow for both pickups. Both arrival and departure will be on weekday mornings. Both flights Aer Lingus. Arrival from USA on Monday at 925am and departure to Venice at 720am on Thursday.

What procedures will we have to go through upon arrival and departure? What time should we get to the airport on Thursday for our flight to Venice?

Thanks for your help!

By "arrange for transportation", what are you trying to do exactly? Are you looking at bus schedules, or hiring a driver, or trying to take a taxi...or something else?

Where are you going on arrival, and where do you need to be picked up from for the departure?

Arriving from the US, you clear immigration initially, then pick up luggage and clear customs. You may have to queue briefly at immigration but it is usually relatively quick and decidedly less formal than the equivalent entering the US. Customs is a simple walk-through without any formalities. You should be exiting arrivals within 45 minutes of touchdown - sometimes it can be faster, sometimes a little slower.

However you should not assume that your flight will land at exactly 9.25 am - the duration of transatlantic flights can be affected by a range of factors including congestion at both the departing and arrival airports and by weather en-route. You need to be flexible.

Departing, you should to be at the airport about 2 hours before departure, as early morning is a busy period with long lines at times for bag drop / check-in and security. You do not pass via any form of border control or customs on exiting the country. Your passport will be checked by airline staff at the gate on boarding.
