Four senior ladies are looking for the best way to get from the Dublin airport to Galway in early June to attend a quilting festival. Any suggestions? Thanks

Take the bus; it's the fastest, easiest way.

Your options are bus or a combination of bus and rail.

There are direct bus services from Dublin Airport to Galway with operators including Bus Eireann (www.buseireann.ie), Citylink (www.citylink.ie) and Gobus (www.gobus.ie). All are reliable companies with comfortable vehicles. Check their websites for timings and fares.

The alternative which is probably slower and a bit more expensive, but maybe scores high on comfort would be to take an Airlink 747 bus from the airport to Heuston Station and from there, travel by rail to Galway. The Airlink 747 runs about every 15 minutes and takes about 1 hour to get to Heuston. Fare is €6 per person. For rail options to Galway, see www.irishrail.ie.
