Organic Grocery Store?

I am wondering if there are any organic grocery stores in Dublin that are accessible to the major touristy areas. I am not looking for a farmer's market, but a physical building that might sell organic dairy products (e.g. yogurt) and fruit.

Thanks for the help!

Hi InquisitiveTravellers

For Organic Dairy Products Glenisk is the produce to look for. Their products are stocked in Supermarkets around the country, Tesco being the supermarket I buy them from. There are a number of Tesco stores around the city. They (Glenisk) currently have a great pop-up store on Dawson Street in Dublin which will be there until at least the end of August. Great for picnic pick-ups etc http://www.glenisk.com/our-products/yogurts/

The Organic Supermarket in Blackrock is a tad out from city centre http://www.organicsupermarket.ie/contact/

Remember the link I gave you to Fallon & Byrne previously? http://www.fallonandbyrne.com/ They should provide some organic fruits etc.

Have a look at http://www.organicguide.ie/

p.s. Should you wish to dine with organic/freerange foodstuffs, have a look at Farm http://www.thefarmfood.ie/

Dunnes Stores also do a pretty decent selection of organic fruit and veg, pretty much everything really.

As LP says, the Glenisk range is pretty good for dairy produce. I use their organic milk all the time.

These are available in Dunnes also and there are a few Dunnes around Dublin City Centre.

You will not have a problem finding organic produce in Tesco or Dunnes.

hi,

in my experience you will find very limited offer of org. products in the stores.

You will have to go for farmer markets.

I go to Dublin Food Co.op. (Thursday / Saturday) and Saturday's market in the Temple Bar.

In Tesco/Dunnes/Lidl I buy organic yoghurts and org. cocnut oils is the cheapest in Dunnes. I hope it helps.

If you're in the Glasnevin area (cemetery tour/botanical gardens) there's a great market called Honest2Giodness in Slaney Court Industrial Estate.

Sorry I'm just now seeing the last few responses. I enjoy farmer's markets but because I am looking for more pre-packaged food items, I wasn't sure that farmer's markets would have them. We will be in Dublin on a Thursday. Ultimately, I want to be able to go to a store or market that is in the same general area as many of the tourist attractions, so we can incorporate it into our sightseeing.

The supermarkets mentioned above would be your best bet then, Dunnes, Tesco and Marks and Spencer all have shops in the city centre. Most shops now stock an amount of organic items, you will find them even in some small local corner shops.
