I would suggest that you book a hotel on the Dublin airport complex. There are two hotels there - The Clarion - choicehotels.ie/en/… and The Radisson - www.radissonblu.ie/hotel-dublinairport.
Take a look at TA reviews and decide which one might suit you best.
I didn't get my first reply above completed.
Then go into Dublin city centre and do a HoHo tour which will bring you around the main tourist attractions. For €24, you could buy a bus ticket at the airport which would cover your journey to the city and the return on the Airlink747 airport express bus and the HoHo tour
Stay in the city, you'll have a place to rest and freshen up when you want. You'll probably be able to check in early when you arrive. If there are 2 or more of you, just take a taxi in - It'll only cost you about EUR10 more than the bus and be quicker door to door. Enjoy a good meal and pub in the evening with a great choice of restaurants and bars - then straight to bed. Again - taxi out to the airport in the morning - book the time you want and it won't take much longer than hanging around for the shuttle bus.
IMO the only grounds to stay at the airport are if you are arriving too late AND leaving early!Edited: 26 August 2013, 22:26
