Dun Laoghaire to Dublin Heuston train station

How much time should I allow for this trip by DART?

Thanks.

Allow up to 15 mins to wait for a DART

25 mins for the DART to Connolly

10 mins wait for a LUAS

20 mins journey by LUAS

So, 70 mins is the safe time. In practice, you're unlikely to wait 15 mins for a DART or 10 mins for a LUAS though

Depending on where you start in Dun Laoghaire, it could be easier to walk to the N11 and get the 145 bus.

As per your other thread you need to take the DART train to Connolly Station and then the Luas tram to Heuston.

The Dart runs every 15mins at off peak times and takes 25 mins to Connolly from Dun Laoghaire. You can check the times in advance using the journey planner in www.irishrail.ie

The tram from Connolly to Heuston takes 15 minutes. If the info screens at Connolly tram stop say there is a wait of 10 mins then walk across the street to the Busaras stop as trams are more frequent from there, every 4-5mins all day

In total from the time you get on the train at Dun Laoghaire until when you get to Heuston will be 45-50mins. Obviously allow yourself more time than that as you need to find your train etc at Heuston

The 145 Bus & N11 is not near Dún Laoghaire. It's on a direct route via the R119 [York Road, Mounttown Road] and R830 [Kill Avenue & Kill Lane] - all in all about 3 miles.

If you decide to go that way, take the 46A bus and get off at Foxrock Church where the bus joins the N11 at the top of Kill Lane. A 145 will come along behind. The 145s are about every 15 minutes with 46As about every 10 minutes.

It depends what you call Dun Laoghaire. It's nowhere near the centre, but for people from outside Dublin areas like Sallynoggin and Deansgrange count as Dun Laoghaire rather than having a profile in their own right.

That's true blackgreen and there have been queries on here that when inquired into revealed that the Poster was not in or near the town center.
