4 star hotel in Dublin

Does anyone have a suggestion for a 4-5 star hotel in Dublin that is in a safe, great location AND has 2 queen or 2 double beds in the room? I notice most hotels have one double and a twin. Thank you!

Also when the hotel website says 2 twin/single beds are they doubles according to U.S. standards or are they actual twin beds?

I've stayed in a few hotels in Dublin. The best for the money, in my opinion, is the Ashling. It's next to one of the museums and easy walking distance to several different modes of transportation - I think the furthest might be the ticket kiosk for the tram (what we usually call 'light rail' in the US).

I don't believe they have rooms with two double beds, but you could ask - I know they have a variety of combinations. Bed sizes are as they are in the US.

The Shelbourne is a bit of a Dublin Institution - very much loved! Also have a look at the Westbury.

It looks like we will have to split into 2 rooms since not many hotels have 2 double beds. I will look at the Shelborne, Westbury and Ashling.

Any other recommendations for 4 star hotels in a very nice and not too touristy section of Dublin? Something within walking distance to pubs, restaurants, etc. Preferably under 160 euros a night? Thank you.

Wouldn't loose too much sleep over four star in this town.

Standards are a lot higher, this side of the pond.

Brooks hotel is always favourably mentioned here as is Buswells hotel. Also look at the hotels of The O'Callaghan Hotel group.

I used the website www.booking,com and selected 1 room x 4 adults and it had several 4* available:

The Clarence

Trinity Lodge

Clarion IFSC

The Aishling

I've listed them in my order of preference in terms of location. I've never stayed in any.

There were 2 3* hotels as well that would be worth considering:

Pearse Hotel

Central Hotel

The website gives details of the bed configuration.
