Dublin Hotels

I will be in Dublin for for 2 non-consecutive nights in August 2014. We are signed up with Vagabond Tours for an 8 day excursion and will stay in Dublin the night before and after the tour. There will be six of us, so I presume that we will need 3 rooms. We are looking for a hotel in the center of Dublin but not too close to the action at night for sleeping purposes. Many hotel reviews indicate that it can be quite loud in certain locations. Thanks for the advice.

I should have added my budget information. We are not looking to spend what it would cost to stay at: Sherbourne, Four Seasons (not City Center anyway) or the Merrion, even though all look rather appealing.

Thanks for the rapid reply. I will take a look at those hotels. I have had recommendations for the:

Central Hotel and the Grafton Capital Hotel. Any thoughts on either of those?

Thanks for responding. That hotel imposes a 2 night stay (consecutive) so I ruled them out. I suppose that I should contact them and argue I will be staying 2 non-consencutive nights, but there are so many other hotels I have not bothered.

Both of those places are decent BHB, more central than I thought you where looking for! The Central has a lovely olde worlde feel, great bar called The Library.

If your budget will cover the Central, I'd go ahead and book it.

Have a quick look at Morrison Dublin (Hilton owned). It's on the edge of everything but as its directly on the opposite side of the Halfpenny Bridge it means you get plenty of sleep!.

We'll be in Dublin for 8 days in late August and early Sept., ostensibly for the American football game, with extra time to see new places. We're planning on using the DART to get to some seaside towns I've seen mentioned in some posts(Dalkay, Malahide etc.) and would like a center city hotel near a DART station but also within walking distance of the downtown rest., pubs and such, but probably not Temple Bar based on some posts. Plan on going there just not staying there. Budget around $1,500 for the seven nights. Thanks.
