Convenient Location of Hotel

We am going to be in Dublin in September, arriving very early in am after overnight flight. Picking up car rental at the airport, but do not want to drive in the city of Dublin itself. We are renting the car for heading out and exploring other parts of Ireland. But we want a hotel between the airport and the city that is easy to get to from the airport. We want to leave our car at our hotel and bus/taxi Into the city and do the hop on hop off for the day. Then taxi or bus back to our hotel and head out the next am with our car rental. Any suggestions on a hotel that would be easy to get to from the airport, but not far from Dublin for touring? Thanks.

The Grand Hotel in Malahide is our go to for our first night (or few) as well as our last night. They have a free car park and are just down the street from the train station where you can easily get transport into Dublin.
