a walking question!

Is it possible to walk from Malahide to Howth passing through Portmarnock and Sutton and if this is doable then how long would it take as a fairly leisurely walk? thanks

Malahide to Howth via Portmarnock and Sutton would be about a 3 hour walk. A nice walk might be from Sutton to Howth via the cliff top walk. It's a rugged but well worn pathway that runs around the entire peninsula and has some spectacular views.

Malahide to Portmarnock, along the coast is about two miles - so you can work out, based on your pace, how long that will take you. You get the #102 bus from Portmarnock to Sutton DART station. You pick up that bus on Wendell Avenue, which is the first turn right after you pass the White Sands Hotel. At Sutton station, you can get the DART to Howth Village (NOT Howth Junction, which is the opposite direction), or you could walk about 800 metres to Sutton Cross and get the #31 bus, which will bring you to Howth village, and also continues up to Howth Head, if you do not feel like walking up to there.

We did both those walks during our most recent trip. We were wowed by the cliff walk from Howth. Absolutely loved the views, the trail itself, etc. We also enjoyed the walk from Malahide, but since we live at the beach in NJ, it reminded us a bit more of home.
