Fly.

I gather Dublin - London is the busiest air route in the world (it used to be London-Paris, until the Channel Tunnel was built), so there is plenty of choice.

Depending on where in London you are staying, may influence the airline:

City Centre/Canary Wharf/East London = City airport, which Cityjet serve.

Westend/West london - London Heathrow - Heathrow, which Aer Lingus and BMI serve

South London - Gatwick, which Ryanair serve

North West London - Luton, which Ryanair serve

North East London - Stansted, which Ryanair serve.

As Feb = off peak, fares should be fairly cheap. Especially if you can avoid first thing in the morning/last thing in the evening.

However, check on the London forum about transport to the airports, as this can sometimes be as expesnive as the airfare.

All the above airlines have very good websites, so happy researching!

Ryan Air Stanstead to anywhere in Ireland. Why just Dublin?

Ryanair will usually be the cheapest. I got £16 return to DUB last year including taxes.

Ryanair are excellent at getting you from A to B and have done wonders for air travel but be aware, in the event of a delay or missed flight, , they could just abandon you without as much as a cup of tea.

aerlingus.com is worth a look. Avoid Feb 24th as there's a match on in Dublin between Ireland and England. Flights and accomodation will be fully booked.
