Galway or Bunratty castle?

We are travelling up from Killarney and only have the choice of one destination before we head to Dublin. I would miss the cliffs of Moher if we go straight to Bunratty area. How quickly does the ferry run across the Shannon ?.Is driving in Galway scarey? So little time, so much to see in this wonderful country. Thanks

Here is the link to the ferry where you can check the schedule: http://www.shannonferries.com/ You could take the ferry, see the cliffs and spend the night at Bunratty if you want. Galway is city driving. How scary is that for you? If you stay in Galway will you have time to see anything?

Hi thanks for the web site. We would have about half a day to see the centre of Galway. Is it easy to drive into Galway. I'm from a small city in NZ. How far is it to Bunratty from Galway?

you cannot actually drive inside galway city interior itself as it is a pedestrianised area.

I would suggest you drive in by the docks, park up your car and then walk through the city at your leisure (its not' actually a city, in that sense of the word - you can get from one end to the other in ten minutes). Its not scary driving in, although you could get mixed up in traffic depending on the time - its a good road.
