TA (and other sites) have excellent full blown reference sections on each city or village (just write in a name of one) on hotels, b&bs as well as sites and restaurants. There are copious full reviews by many readers and rankings for each. You can also simply google with the name of any hotel or the like and ask for reviews in the inquiry as well.
They are all very good hotels, The G is 5 star, it depends what part of the city you want to be in. The 12 is 10 minutes west of the city, the G 5 mins east, and the other two are in Salthill.
If you wish to stay in a true Irish Hotel (old charm, cozy and in the city center) than only Park House Eyre House will do.
the Twelve Hotel is outside the city on the Connemara road
the rooms have poor lighting they have spot lights
which is not good if you need to iron a shirt.
The restaurant across from the hotel
Donnelly's is very good.
Re: Post 4, that would be Park House, Forster Street.
Thanks everyone who replied. I am going to try and book the Park House Hotel if it's available.
Great choice VFR and our favorite (Park House Hotel)!
Hey there, the Radisson Blu is fab, and in city centre, also the Meyrick (former Railway Hotel) right on Eyre Square. Park House is a good choice, v close to Eyre Square- near to all the public transport links.
The 12 is a boutique hotel, fabulous restaurant upstairs, bar food downstairs, gourmet pizza, bakery... It's 7 miles from the city, but a good base to explore Connemara. It's also right beside Barna pier, nice beaches, walks etc.
Hope you manage to book the Park House, you get great hospitality from all the staff. As them beforehand about parking if you are driving.
