B & B or hotel ???

We will be spending one night in Kilkenny in June. (by car)

Do you suggest a nearby bed and breakfast outside the city or a hotel in the city.

Any specific recommendations?

You could try Rosquil Guest house just out of the centre.

It depends which you like. There is plenty of choice in hotels.

The Ormonde, the Pembroke, the Hibernian, the River Court, Zuni, and Langtons are all right in the centre. The Hotel Kilkenny, the Newpary, the Springhill Court, the Lyrath, Days hotel and the Kilkenny Inn are more on the edge.

Most of the B&B's would be either a little out of the centre or in the countryside with the exception of Carriglea, Berkeley House, and Fanad House. The B&Bs suggested above are all worth considering and would be in a reasonable walking distance if you don't mind a bit of a walk.

If you stay outside the City then you should factor in the cost of parking in the town. Parking is around 1.20 - 1.50 an hour.

If you are only saying for one night and want to see the town, then it would probably be better for you to stay within the town enrivons rather thay outside.

Dunromin is a b and b in a residential area, in town but not in the center. 10 minute walk or so to the center of town. (Kilkenny is small and compact.)

And Abbeylodge is about 5-10 minutes walk also. They have secure parking as well - and free wifi.
