National Famine Commemoration - May 2012

Drogheda has been selected to host the National Famine Commemoration in May.

No doubt there will be a host of events organised to honor those who perished during the famine.

Will post details as they come-to-hand.

A timely reminder as governments tax the poor, sell off national assets and drive people into low income employment so that the (landlord) banks can have their way.

Seems to have gone under the radar. I havent seen/heard much about it whatsoever, until the 7 o'clock news this morning when it mentioned that An Taoiseach was visiting the town for the event.

There's a famine walk this afternoon with a National Commemoration afterwards.
