there a Toby Carvery just up the road, turn left out of the Hotel, and its on your left, maybe 200m. better to walk into town centre, 10-15min. but means navigating the busy roundabout, but they all have controlled pedestrian crossing points.

Great traditional country pub - Ye Olde Six Bells. I've been there many times and never had a bad meal. Their "whale" and chips is legendary! Reasonable prices too. To get there turn right out of hotel road past petrol station and cross road. Carry on until you see a church/graveyard on the left, cross road and walk through churchyard, turn left out of churchyard and you're there. Only 5-10 mins walk.

I think Maiseymeg may have the wrong hotel as it is 10 to 15 minutes by car from Crowne Plaza, which is in Crawley (RH11 7SX) south of the airport , to Six Bells (RH6 8AD) which is in Horley area north of the airport.Would take well over an hour to walk I would think as it is about 5 miles.

Bojangles is correct, walking in to CrawleyTown centre may be the best bet or walk up to Three Bridges and there are 2 or 3 pubs there.

The Six Bells in Horley is not bad and is walkable from the North Terminal and its hotels.

However, If good beer is your thing and you have a few hours, then splash out on a taxi to the smartly updated Fox Revived at Norwood Hill or (a bit further still) the very friendly Jolly Tanners at Staplefield.

Thanks to this board we did in fact eat at the Toby Carvery. It was a short walk from where we were staying (Crowne Plaza). The food was reasonably good and the service was very good. We seldom like to eat in airport hotel restaurants.

Hi robert - yes, many!

Your about 2 minutes walk out of the town centre so take your pick between Chinese, Indian, Italian, Spanish etc.

Do you have any preference?

No problem.

No shortage of Italian restaurants for you, all the chains are there - Ask, Prezzo, Pizza Express and Bella Italia.

Sadly the closest you'll get to a good English type meal is probably Frankie & Benny's! Though having said that the Olde Punch Bowl (a reasonable pub) does ok food at an ok price.

You've got plenty to choose from.
