Luton Airport link to Watford

Hi, Im going to harry potter studios in a couple of weeks, staying at the Holiday Inn Express at watford junction for two nights. Are there buses from London Luton Airport on friday evenings to the Holiday Inn express (bridle path) ? Just want to be organised with where to go before we walking around London on a cold November evening!

Bus 321 from London Luton to Watford High Street (10 minute walk to Watford Junction - ask someone the way; they are generally friendly in Watford!). It takes about 90 minutes

There's this rather slow bus:

Problem is it doesn't serve the airport in the evening - you'd have to get into Luton Town Centre to pick it up. You might actually be quicker going into London and coming out again

The Holiday Inn Express is a couple of minutes walk from Watford Junction station - that end's no problem. The 321 does stop there - no need to go to the High Street

How about Luton to St Albans and then onto the flyer?

A possibility - problem with that is that the two St Albans stations are 15-20 minutes walk apart. Not something you want to be doing in a strange town possibly late in the evening. A taxi might be the answer to that

So all we need is a bus from L.A. to the St Albans High street ( or Chequer/St Peters ) as us locals call it!Then is all 'downhill' to the correct train Station , passing the Cathedral .

But there's no bus that fits that description save the 321, daytime only. And if you are on the 321 you might as well stay on it to Watford Junction.

The last through 321 from Luton Airport to Watford Junction leaves at 17.26.

There is a later bus at 18.56 which operates to Garston Bus Garage; from there there are local buses to Watford Junction.

There are also buses from Luton Town Centre (Church Street, Stop C9) to Watford Junction at 20.15, 21.15 and 22.15; use a local bus from the Airport.

Are you going back to Luton Airport on Sunday? Bus 321 leaves stop 2 at Watford Junction at 08.07, then at xx.07 minutes past each hour until 17.07. Later buses at xx.12 minutes past each hour to Luton Town Centre only, until 22.12.

Thanks for all your replies :) very helpful people! We arrive at Luton around 7.15pm so it looks like we may get a bus to Luton station then a bus to Watford? Coming home on the Sunday is easier as our flight is at 6pm so we are ok with afternoon buses, it's just getting there that seems to be a task :/

OK, well you would probably get to Luton Town Centre in time for the 20.15 - you want Church Street stop C9; ask the driver of whichever bus you get from the Airport where you should get off for it. Don't go the the railway station as it is some distance from Church Street.

The 20.15 and later departures are operated by Red Rose, not Arriva.

Would it be easier to just book a hotel in central London for the fri night? Straight through to London centre and make our way back up to Watford on the sat?
