Euros for GBP in Preston

Does anyone know where I can exchange my 550 euros into GBP at a better exchange rate than 1.46? I dont mind selling them to an individual who contacts me anyway just dont want to lost out on 3% because of the agents. I am based in Preston and have the cash.

Have a look here:

travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/buy-back/

Over the counter looks like Natwest - if you are prepared to post it off to one of the others, insured mail, you'll do a lot better and more than recoup the fiver or so it will cost to post them. You'd be advised to use a special delivery envelope

I don't understand your reference to 3% - it's a whole lot more than that on buyback, usually.

<<Have you tried the post office?>>

A lousy choice - certainly for buy back. I suspect that's where the 1.46 came from.

Oh well, it was just a thought.

If I have any currency when I get back from a trip to Europe it's usually only ever less than 10 Euros, and I keep that for next time.

But 550 Euros ! :-s

I'd be happy to take around £230 worth off you. PM me.

Otherwise, HSBC is leading the way at the moment.

I've been thinking about this and if you can afford to have a spare 550 Euros floating about that you didn't spend on your "holiday" or "trip abroad" then you should be able to sort your problem out yourself without asking on the TA forum.

How many people go on "holiday" and take too much money - as in 550 Euros too much money !?

If I go down the pub I plan ahead and take as much money as I need for a few pints - I don't take enough money for 20 nights out.

Wish I had a spare £500 I could happily change into Euros and not spend, and then worry about how I would turn it back into £'s when I got back home !!!! ;-)

<<How many people go on "holiday" and take too much money >>

Well I've done so on occasions - cash deposit on holiday accommodation refunded at the end of stay and no time to spend it before returning home

So not necessarily a sign of profligacy. Don't be too quick to judge.
