Tuesday night

Hi,i will be in Manchester soon midweek.i understand that the social scene on a Tuesday night will be very quiet but can anyone recommend a lively spot for a Tuesday night?? Surely there is one bar/nightclub with good atmosphere on a Tuesday night in Manchester! Any hidden gems?? A student crowd will even do,anything!!

42nd Street (a student nightclub) always had Ruby Tuesdays on that was very busy. I'm far too old now to know whether it's still on.

It'll never be very quiet and there will always be one or two clubs that'll be busy. Best to check City Life for the complete listings. Or, most pubs and clubs (even the old-mens pubs) will have flyers or posters for the local nights.

If United have a European game that night then Manchester will be very busy. The Circus casino is always busy. Long Legs lap-dancing bar is open on Tuesdays.

Man united have home premiership game that night,so that might create a stir around town.i have heard people talk about 42nd street,so that could be an option.where is that place?? Lots of clubs advertising for Tuesday nights but suppose alot of them could be empty.so i have got to go to a tried and trusted venue!!!

I believe Tuesday night is still the traditional student night out in town (Wednesday mornings being free of lectures for many students).

Not up to date, but pretty sure 42nd Street is still one of the favourite student clubs, so you could be OK with that.

Hi,

Another option, if you are into live jazz, would be Phil and Phreds Jazz Club. The club is in The Northern Quarter and there's free entry on Tuesday, 1st February.

Good luck.

42nd Street is just off Deansgate behind Brannigans (now closed). Around there you've got Walkabout (cheesy and tacky), Sir Ralph Abercromby (good old fashioned pub), 235 casino, Radisson hotel bar (very swanky). I was chatting with a young colleague who tells me that 42nd Street is still normally busy on a Tuesday.

The Deaf Institute is great but a bit further out of town along Oxford Road.
