Best train station?

Hi,

I will be staying at the below apartments this Friday.

Manchester City Centre Deansgate

8 Commercial Street

MANCHESTER

M1 5NZ

Can someone suggest the best train station to use please? I'll be travelling from Chester.

Thanks,

Laura

It's 700' from Oxford Road which has direct trains from Chester. Deansgate is nearer but it doesn't have direct trains

How long will it take you to walk half a mile. 10 minutes maybe?

Hi,

You don't have to walk, the #2 Metroshuttle bus stops at the front of Oxford Road Station. The service is free, it runs 7 days a week and is very frequent. The bus takes a few minutes to get to Deansgate Station, a couple of minutes walk from your apartment.

Good luck!

Manchester Victoria is definitely the best station if you can get it, failing that go to Piccadilly and get the free shuttle bus to Deansgate.

I wouldn't recommend going to Oxford Road if you're not familiar with Manchester, it's not far from Deansgate however can be confusing for a first time/infrequent visitor to the City.

Hi,

The free buses from Piccadilly Station don't go to that end of Deansgate.

They go most of the way up Deansgate from Renaissance hotel up to Spinningfields, you can normally walk the rest of the way

Hi,

Thanks all for your messages, I've just got round to seeing them.

I think we will get the train to Oxford so we don't have to change then look at the bus service. Worse case scenario walk and hope it doesn't rain! :-)

Hi,

This photo will show you the Metroshuttle free bus and the stop at Oxford Road Station. As stated, the buses are very frequent, so no need to get wet. Anyway, it very rarely rains in Manchester. :))
