Shepley Road is in Audenshaw which is some distance from the city centre and in an area with little in the way of visitor attractions.

Try Weston Hall a hall of residence right in the centre. Same sort of price as the Mount Guest House but right in the city centre. Never stayed here but university halls of residence are usually clean and acceptable and they rent rooms in the summer vacation to the general public.

Sale itself is a nice suburb of Manchester. I don't know Belforte House, but their website looks good and the place looks clean and comfortable. It's also very close to Sale tram station, so you'll be able to get into the centre of Manchester and Salford Quays very easily - less than 20 minutes on the tram.

The Wimslow road area can be a little unsavoury .

If your visiting Manchester then stat in the city centre, as above premier inn or similar should have some reasonable rates
