From Piccadilly Station to Hotel to Old Trafford

Hi, You Helpful Bunch,

What is the best method for:

1. Getting from Piccadilly Station to the Premier Inn Manchester Central hotel (in daytime) with rolling luggage in hand?

2. Getting from same hotel to Old Trafford (for a tour/non-match day)?

Thanks so much in advance for your responses!

The hotel website answers your first question

www.manchestercentral.co.uk/getting-here

To get to Old Trafford get the tram from St Peter's Square, either the Altrincham tram and get off at Old Trafford or the Eccles tram and get off at Pomona or Exchange Quay

Thanks so much. I hadn't to both of you for the suggestions. Makes sense. I hadn't seen that particular website before. Helpful.

Thanks again!

The website supplied by Chesterbuff isn't the hotel’s website, it's the site for The Manchester Central Exhibition Centre. Your hotel is opposite that centre.

Regarding your travel question, your hotel is a couple of minutes walk from St Peter's Square tram stop. There are trams every few minutes from Piccadilly Station to St Peter's Square, the same trams continue to stops close to Old Trafford. The trams in question are the Altrincham, Eccles and Media City trams.

If you purchase an Off Peak Day Ticket before you get on the tram at Piccadilly Station, that will cover all your tram fares for that day, the price is £4.90.

The Imperial War Museum North is a short walk from Old Trafford, you could easily include that in your visit. Entrance is free and The Media City tram stop is at the rear of the museum, on Salford Quays, for your return to the city centre.

Good luck and I hope that you enjoy your visit.
