Manchester at night!

Hi, I want to take my boyfriend to Manchester to celebrate his 30th birthday. We are parents so this is a rare trip for one night away! Can anyone suggest anywhere nice to stay - near to restaurants, bars etc? Thank you.

well if you really want to treat him, you should book one of the midland, the lowry or radisson edwardian. BUT none of them have parking! is the train not an option? the only hotel with a car park is the premier inn near deansgate locks. it's on the edge of the centre, so will involve some walking -not a huge amount though. there are restaurants and bars spread all over, but see the link for ideas of what you both may like and the various locations.

Further to the above, consider Great John Street Hotel (boutique hotel).

For a great selection of independent bars and restaurants just head to the Northern Quarter (Troff, Odd, Terrace, Northern Quarter Restaurant, Bakerie, Cord, Common being just a few of the bars/restaurants there).

Also, for fancier places, try Spinningfields - Australasia, The Oast House, The Alchemist, Neighbourhood.
