Recommend a good Sunday roast in Manchester?

Hi everyone,

Myself my partner and a few friends will be in Manchester in a few weeks, and while we'll be busy all weekend, we'll be looking forward to a nice Sunday roast!

We're staying reasonably central in the university area, and would like to eat somewhere pretty central too.

In terms of quality/price, we're looking somewhere between fine dining and good honest pub grub, though probably closer to pub grub to keep the price reasonable!

Can't anyone recommend a few places? I've looked at the restaurants section for Manchester on here, but there are just so many!

Any help appreciate, thanks everyone!!

I had a good one last Sunday at the Horse and Jockey in Chorlton Green. But that may be just a little too far on the tram.

Try one of the Chop Houses. Mr Toms is the original but the others are just as good.

Hi,

A lot of places do Sunday roasts. I think most of the Blackhouse Grill places do them and the ones I've tried have been very good - Grill on New York Street, Grill on the Alley, The Alchemist (New York Street and Spinningfields). Maybe Australasia as well? Maybe their new place - Artisan.

The Northern Quarter Bar and Restaurant.

Room, Browns, Gorilla, Dukes Grill, Albert's Shed are all worth checking out to see if they do a Sunday roast as well.

Hope that helps :)

Bakerie on Lever Street in the Northern Quarter (2mins walk from Piccadilly gardens) do really nice Sunday Roasts (link to menu attached) you do need to book though especially if there's a few of you as it does get busy and they only serve food 12-5 on Sundays, here's a link to the menu bakerie.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bak… you won't be disappointed :-)

The Ox on Liverpool rd (just off Deansgate) is quite a good pub for food.
