Coronation Street Tour - Hotel recommendation

Hi

Just booked tickets for my mum and I as a surprise 72nd birthday present for her. Planning on staying overnight on 9th June, and doing the tour on 10th.

I am looking for a really nice hotel immediately near the studios or with one of the free shuttles outside.

I have champagne tastes but a lemonade pocket :) lol - want to really spoil my mum but at the same time can't go crazy with the money.

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel that will wow her without sending me bankrupt?

Thanks for any help.

there's the great john street hotel, which is very close. it's expensive, but don't think it will make you bankrupt.

Victoria and Albert is a good call, very close. The Hilton isn't too far away either.

I'm also interested in the same topic. Thinking about Great St John Street as it is immediately across the street. We will be there for 2 nights…I will check out the Victoria and Albert.

What is there to do in the evening in that area?

Thanks!

Victoria and Albert seem to have have a number of negative comments about staff, air conditioning, etc.

Velvet also seemed to have a good rating, but I assume it is a bit further. Is there much to do around the Great St. John Street hotel other than the tour as we are spending two nights there…

Check out The Radisson Edwardian Hotel, The Midland Hotel and The Marriott Renaissance Hotel, They are all in the city centre a short walk from The Coronation Street Tour.

You ask what is there to do? The tour is in the city centre where you'll find numerous theatres, cinemas, music venues, clubs, casinos, over 300 restaurants and over 500 licensed premises.
