Couples holiday in Manchester, Deansgate Hilton Hotel

Hi guys, Im sure the same questions are asked over and over here and are really annoying to regular posters so if theres a link or a thread you can direct me to that would be great.

We'd love to see some nice sights any where you would recommend?

Are we close to the Trafford Shopping Centre?

We love the theatre any special sites for good deals?

Any good value spas in the area?

We're not football fans or museum fans Im afraid so something nice and picturesque would be just great.

Thank you all x

First look at www.tfgm.com for all public transport whilst your in Manchester. This includes info about the free Metroshuttle bus.

For the Trafford Centre you can take either the 250 or X50 from the city centre. It takes around 20 minutes or so.

Look at www.manchestertheatres.com/ to see what on when your in the city.

Enjoy your trip.

Umm - "nice and picturesque" - not sure what to suggest really. Buildings that are different perhaps - the Shambles etc, (timber-framed), Chethams Library, John Rylands Library, some of the former textile warehouses (eg Britannia Hotel - look inside), the Town Hall, the modern Courts complex? Manchester has re-used many old buildings - the Royal Exchange Theatre within the former exchange, the Printworks (cinema, restaurant etc) in former newspaper/magazine printworks and so on.

Perhaps one of the walking tours would offer ideas -

Plenty of other ideas on there, too.

Manchester is an industrial city with a rich history and that means that "Picturesque" doesn't really apply here :) but try this

or you might want to have a walk around here

www.theavenuemanchester.com/eating-drinking/

manchesterbars.com/location-castlefield.htm

"Picturesque" in Cork and "Picturesque" in Manchester are two separate worlds :)))))
