The Copthorne is on the edge of Salford Quays, roughly a couple of miles from Albert Square. If you were keen you could walk - route isn't the most scenic though.

Probably the simplest option is to get the Metrolink (tram) from the Exchange Quay stop - just across from the hotel:

Travel towards the city centre and get off at St Peter's Square. On one side of the square is the Town Hall extension, next to the Central Library (the round building) - there's a wide passageway between the two which if you walk through and turn right brings you to the edge of Albert Square; much the same distance would be to walk along the side of the TH extension and when you get to Lloyd Street go along that (it runs between the extension and the main Town Hall) into Albert Square. Google's StreetView will make it clearer than I can!

If your minted get a taxi (a tenner probably)

if your brassic walk,not reccomended

cheapest sensible option take the tram.

thanks both of you. Not minted and not much of a walker either (not in heels anyways) so probably will do the tram.... thanks again.
