Interesting conflict here - if you have to show at security that the e-cigarette battery is chargedy (as in recent regulations for electronic devices) by 'lighting up', are you then infringing the smoking in buildings regulations ?

Depends on the airport, ecigs are allowed to be used at Heathrow for example.

Our daughter frequently travels with her Ecig. She keeps the liquid in her quart sized bag and drains the tank in the Ecig before entering airport because they tend to leak all over the place due to pressure changes in flight.

some ecigs have cartridges only so no separate liguid bottle...hence no need to 'drain' anything.

There is no conflict whatever, as with an e-cigarette you are not smoking anything. The 'smoke ' is a water vapour designed solely to give the impression of smoking. The reason e-cigarettes are banned in some places is because people might think it is a real cigaretter and/or they might make it more difficult to spot people who really are smoking.

So, where they are banned, there will be conflict - which was my original point
