A Hotel to stay in- Budget BUT OK. I have stayed at the Est

Hi a lady friend and I are off to Paris. 25/3/2008.... for 4 days. That is all the time we can afford......... My friend needs a lift, ensuite . I need the same BUT I need single beds.My priority........I can share a toilet. etc... Anything cheap!!! Backpacker!!! I want to be in the ""HEART" of Paris. I found this Hotel convenient. Walking distance from the Eurostar Stop, Gare Du Mord(hope I choose the correct name) I tried to buy an Underground Rail ticket... NO luck . I cannot speak French and the operator couldn't understand English. Bad Luck. Quickier than a taxi but I do have trouble reading directions and maps.Lost often and Tour bus drivers said to me..""Read the Map" I said.." I can't read it .. No glasses""...No good impressions standing in a street alone trying to decipher a map.... We will have 4 days in ""Paree""Last visit I didn't go to the Moulin Rouge BUT this time it is a MUST.I also didn't have time to visit the Louvre or The Palace of Versailles. Train strike... Also a good Paris Restaurant. Then I will feel I have lavished the thrills of Paris.I need to return to the Irish Pub at the top of Montmartre. Visited after Mass at Sacre Coeur. Wonderful experience. The Nuns Choir wonderful...I was drenched, as I had walked from the Opera building up to the rail to ascend the hill. Head down and umbrella in hand... Local walking the streets of Paris I hoped I looked..After walking there from the Est Hotel in Magenta via Opera. Lost I was.Typical OZ.!! I needed an Ozzie beer......... I was looking for a Restaurant that was typical Parisan with typical food and chandelliers. BUT I didn't find it......Recommended to me..BUT this time I hope I do. I just loved Paris.........Can someone help???? Where do we stay????? Gera007

My favorite place to stay, not only for location, but price is Timotel Le Louvre. It is quaint and conveniently located by the Louvre, so you would be in the "heart" of Paris. Also, Metro stop is close by and not too many transfers to get where you're going.
