Fall Foliage

We will be in France in October. At the moment, we are planning on spending time in Paris, the Dordogne river valley, and Provence. I would love to see some fall colors while in France. Can anyone tell me where I might find good color at that time. (I'm pretty sure Provence is out, but I would be interested in knowing if & when Dordogne gets fall colors). Also, if there are any other areas you would recommend. Thanks in advance.

1. Re: Fall Foliage

Haven't done the areas you mention for the Autumn colours, but have done the Ardennes Region which crosses into Belgium. The best time seemdes to be the end of October, but this is very dependent upon the weather, and also the tree species as they don't all change at the same time.

I assume your more southerly places would be slightly later. Also the colours in France, although very pretty, are more subtle and not as vibrant as those in parts of the US.
