My husband and I are going to nice for ten days and renting a car and exploring southern France . We can stay in each town for couple of nights. Any suggestions

You can use Nice as a base, spend time in Nice and use public transportation to Cannes, Monaco, Eze, etc. I believe that in Provence, you would want to use a car.

Perhaps if you post your question in the Nice forum, you will get more replies. A poster named NiceSelkie is very helpful.

I suggest that you get a copy of the Michelin Green Guide to the Côte d'Azur. There's a great deal to see, and the Guide will help you narrow down your options. There are recommended itineraries as well.

That all depends on what you want to see. Nice is in the eatern part of Provence, and there is quite a lot to see in that area. Western Provence offers more in the way of Roman ruins and the cities of Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. Check out the viamichelin.com web site for itineraries and maps, along with estimates of driving time.
