Getting from Paris to Nice via train

Can I get a fast train from Charles DeGalle airport train station to Nice? Or, do I have to go from airport to another station to get a fast train to Nice?

But without a date and arrival time (schedules do change) it´s difficult to tell. No matter how you connect (possibilities include Paris, Lille, Avignon, Marseille), there are no fast trains travelling all the way to Nice as the TGV rails stop somewhere about Marseille.

If you do book a non stop TGV from Roissy to Nice, and there is usually one a day, expect 6+35 en route. Air travel would be much faster.

On the present timetable, there is one direct (but not non-stop) train each day, leaving at 13.58 and reaching Nice at 20.33. There are a number of other journeys requiring a change in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence or Avignon.

For the best prices on train travel, book direct with the operator as far ahead as possible. Tickets go on sale 3 months before travel, and the cheapest tickets often sell out quickly. Discounted ticket prices keep going up as the travel date gets closer.

You can get train times and costs, and make bookings, at en.voyages-sncf.com/en but use Antarctic at the "Ticket collection country" to avoid being transferred to RailEurope USA, which has higher prices and does not list all the trains.

If you have trouble with voyages-sncf, www.capitainetrain.com is a private website which has the same prices.
