where to stay ouside of bordeaux

We will be traveling from Sarlat to Bergeric and staying in Bergerac area for 2 days . We then will be going to the airport of Bordeaux to go back to the states. We are not interested in going into Bordeaux nor seeing Bordeaux but need a nice town or place to stay in overnight so we can easily drive to the airport the next day. Also we were thinking of of driving from Bergerac to the airport of Bordeaux the same day to catch the plane. Do you think this is too far ,or should we stay closer to the airport area and where. ?

Thank you.

Bergerac is about 80 miles from the airport and if you are heading that way on a weekday morning you could become entangled in rush hour traffic around Bordeaux. Otherwise 90 minutes drive.

There are numerous hotels within a mile of the airport should you consider that option.

Hi sailor,

I think you should go to Arcachon on coast west of Bordeaux. Nice clean town, with beachs, restaurants, hotels. A short trip back to Bordeaux Mérignac aéroport, very easy route. Bonne journée à tous.
