Flying into Madrid- coming to Biarritz what is the best way?

We are flying in Madrid in June and would like to spend a day in Madrid and then go to Biarritz and since we have never taken a train thought this might be good. What is the best way to get to Biarritz? When we get there can we rent a car from the train station?

For train information in Spain use www.renfe.com

At Biarritz SNCF station (called Gare La Négresse) there are at least two hire car companies: Avis and National/Citer.

If they do not have any availability then the airport is a short bus ride away and has much more choice. To get there you will need to take Line 'C':

Thank you- do you think on our return to Madrid we should take a train to San Sebastion and stay overnight and then on to Madrid- would that be nice to visit there first?

If you have the time then you should definitely stay in San Sebastian. Even though it is only a short journey it is quite different to Biarritz.

Some useful information here: biarritzairporttransfers.com/Biarritz-to-San…

If you are catching the train to San Sebastian then use www.voyages-sncf.com for train information from Biarritz to Hendaye. Then change at Hendaye for the Euskotren to San Senastian (Donostia): www.euskotren.es
