Hotels in Burgandy.

We are driving from Colmar in Alsace to Provence and to break the journey plan to stop over for about 3 nights in the Burgandy region. We have visited Lyon before and whilst would be happy to stay there again thought that somewhere different would be nice. We like towns where we can walk to restuarants for dinner and also towns that have a few sights and places to explore should be choose to have a day off from driving. I would appreicate any recommendations. We prefer 4 star hotels. Thank you

Dijon and Beaune would be excellent stopovers in Burgundy. For a wonderful hotel with a 3* restaurant, consider staying in Vonnas. It's a charming little town with many flowers, a stream running through, and Georges Blanc, one of the greats of French cuisine.

There are some reasonably priced rooms at George Blanc, but expect to pay a hefty price for the excellent dinner.

Thank you for your reply. We have decided on Beaune as I think it will suit our requirements. Now I am off to research the next stage of our trip which will be Provence.

Thanks again
