Taking photos of Chambord - do we have to pay?

We are passing through Chambord on the way north to catch a ferry. We won't have time to visit the Château, but I would like to see the outside.

Is entry to the park free? Will we be able to take photos without having to pay the hefty entry fee for the Château?

Thanks.

Entry to the park is free so you will be able to take lots of photos from the outside with out any problems.

However, you will have to pay for the car park (€3 for the day).

(Walk around the lake for great photos looking back on the Chateau).
