Medieval Streets ?

Visiting Chartres on a day trip from Paris in July. Which are the authentic "medieval streets /areas" , where the half timbered houses still exist ?

Thanks for any input !

if you want to enjoy Chartes.. you should go there by night.. there is a special event during the summer vacation ' Chartres en Lumières" ... the whole city is illuminated during the night with a lot of events everywhere.. laser show on the facade of the building.. very impressive !!

check the photo and video gallery

Head to the tourist office and ask for a free tourist map which will outline the touristy trail through town along the old streets.

But you would have no difficulty finding the half timbered houses anyway as they are near the cathedral, but the maps give additional information about the things you pass by. There are also audio-guided tours if you prefer.

I can't post the link right now from my cell phone but just google the Chartres tourist office website for their address and other info.
