Rent motorcycle at Bastia airport?

I fly into Bastia on Aug 16 and have a hotel in Propriano for a few days, then will go to Sardinia and fly out of Olbia. I'm traveling solo and Corsica seems like a good a place as any to rent a motorcycle/Vespa. Wondering a few things: is it a bad idea to learn to ride a motorbike on the island, can I even rent one from the airport and are one way rentals common? Happy to provide more detail, and I'm thinking renting an auto is a good 'backup' plan and plenty of info about that on the forums.

I would doubt you would be able to rent a motorbike, if you do not have an appropriate licence already.

In the UK, car drivers can still use scooters of 50cc without needing a special licence, but scooters are a lot easier to manage, being mainly "twist-and-go" with automatic gears.....

Because there is always a lot of traffic on Corsican roads in August you will average maybe 50 kms an hour. But I still don't think that you should "learn" how to ride a scooter on Corsica. The roads are very winding and in some areas treacherous.

Get a car if you can still reserve one at this late date.

Be prepared that it will be a manual transmission.
