Besancon train station

My husband and I will have about 90 minutes in Besancon while we wait for a train connection. We want to explore Besancon while we wait but would like to leave our luggage at the station. Does anyone know if the station has facilities to store luggage?

According to the SNCF web site, there is not luggage storage at Besancon: see www.gares-en-mouvement.com/index.php…

Thank you so much for your very speedy reply. I guess We'll just have to tote our bags as we explore! Thanks again.

Be warned, although the station at Besancon is not far from the town centre it is quite high above the river level and therefore would be a steep climb back at the end of your short visit. However, there are some nice gardens just outside the station with a great view over the town and up to the Citidel especially in good weather.

Thank you, that is good to know. The gardens sound promising.
