Taverne du Sargent Recruiteur...I think I already sent you my notes. We wouldn't miss it. Go your first night...you'll probably want to go back before you leave!

coupe chou is adorable and "feels" like paris.

try la fontaine de mars, on rue saint dominique in the 7th, try and sit outside if you can! they take reservations and speak a bit of english.

le grand colbert is a great classic cafe, but call ahead for reservations.

Bofinger, just off Bastille is great, especially on an early Sunday afternoon when French families come in for dinner.

Well it all depends who is paying (lol)

Le Grand Vefour, I was there only once but I am hoping for a

second invitation next June. The cuisine is great but the reason I adore it is the truly unique ambiance so historical.

Le Train Bleu, When I am the doing the invitations. Great grande brasserie decor, make you feel you are on a movie set and the equation between price and quality is there.

Hoping to have time to try La Fermette Marbeuf, some friends of ours like it last month. I will write a comment on our return.

Bon Appetit.

The Brasserie de l'Isle Saint-Louis. It is in a great location and has inside and outside seating, and serves an onion tart and Charcouterie and Cassolet.

Best money is no object:

1) Taillevent (my favorite in Paris, period)

2) le Cinq

3) le Grand Vefour

4) Guy Savoy

5) La Tour d'Argent

Best next-tier expensive:

1) L'Astrance

2) Jacques Cagna

3) Gerard Besson

4) Bath's

5) Maison Blanche

Best for pricing we could actually eat every night while there:

1) Chez Georges (the one in the 2nd arr)

2) Le Coupe Chou

3) L'Angle du Faubourg

4) Bofinger

5) Aux Lyonnais

Regarding Le coupe chou-

will they take reservations for large parties of say 8-10 people. How far in advance should we call for a mid week reservation? Does the staff speak some english?

thanks

Looking forward to Le Coupe Chou in September.

You might check their web site and I think that

will help tell you why it's my choice.
