Eurostar from London to Paris

Hello,

My daughter and I are going to London in March and from there to Paris via Eurostar. We would prefer to have some flexibility as to when we go to Paris, but I'm told that I should book Eurostar sooner rather than later as the prices go up. Is this true or can we wait until we get to London (right now we're planning to stay there for four days) before we buy the Eurostar tickets?

thanks and regards,

As with all trains there are a limited number of seats at the cheapest rate. These tend to get sold first.

You can buy tickets for £27 (each way) if you book as soon as they come on sale - buy too late and you will be paying over £70 each way

Sometimes you need to book well over a month in advance to get the cheaper seats. I booked six weeks in advance a few months ago and was still too late.

Most travellers bring a drink and a sandwich on with them, as it's cheaper and better than buying in the train's buffet. Being near the bar means that you'll constantly have a stream of people brushing past you to get to it.

Right now you can get a return ticket London-Paris in March for 59 pounds. Unfortunately you must leave on a Tuesday and be back on a Thursday. if you only go from London to Paris then fly back home from Paris then you have a little bit more flexibility.

Finally something I can answer :)

I am heading to London in early march and from there I am heading to Paris. I just booked a 1 way ticket for 131.00 US London to Paris. From what other TA member said, I didn't pay too much. They also had the flexibility fares available for i think 200+. I got my tickets at RailEurope.CA (I'm in Canada)

I would compare this site and the Eurostar site and see what works out better. Happy Hunting :)

The cheapest one way fares are 51 GBP (approx $72 U.S., $90 Can). Use the Eurostar Great Britain site. You can book 120 days in advance. I just booked for June. As with airfares, flexible does not equal cheap.

By the way sorry but my reply with tips above got censored by Tripadvisor.

One of the tips was to book coach 14 because it's the only coach in standard class that has in-seat power plugs.

Jenny - isango!
