A Deal for someone

Sometimes the best laid plans.....

After a year of planning and dreaming, we were off on our European adventure September14.

London, Amsterdam, a rented boat in Belgium and five days in Paris awaited us.

Paris still does.

The Better Half stepped off the boat to tie up while we waited for a bridge opening on vacation Day 7 and fractured her foot in four places.

After two days in a Gent hospital and three days of waiting for clearance for her to fly home, we were on our way back.

Still in our suitcase were two two-day Paris Museum passes and two Paris Carnets for which we paid $102 at London's St. Pancras station before boarding the Eurostar at the start of our trip.

They remain in their cellophane wrappers, a sad reminder of what could have been.

If anyone out there is Paris bound this year I would be willing to sell you these two two-day museum passes and two 10-ticket Carnets for a total of $50.

Just e-mail me with your address and I'll post them to you. If they are just what you expected, then you can send me a check.

Meanwhile, we'll begin making plans for another Paris attempt in 2010.

Darks

None of them expire so you can use them yourself when you go back in 2010.

Best of luck to your wife - I hope her foot is soon as good as new.

This kind of accident is very common with rental boats. The grassy banks are full of hidden holes where someone jumping from a boat can turn an ankle or break a few bones.

I hope that your wife recovers quickly and that you will both be able to travel again soon. I also hope this accident has not put you off renting other boats, as it is such a nice way to travel and relax at the same time.

I've never needed a museum pass but I always save my unused metro tickets for next time.

We're leaving in 11 days. If you still wish to part with these, instead of going later, contact me at bbaum1@aol.com .

Sorry to hear about your wife's accident. I hope she mends quickly and completely.

Meanwhile my suggestion would be that you make a display of the unused passes and tickets and hang it somewhere, like by your desk (or hers...), to remind you that you will be in Paris and having a wonderful time within the year.
