Apartments are usually rented out for 5 days or more. Good luck. You can try www.vacationinparis.com or www.homeaway.com. Happy Travels!

Firs I suggest hotel room instead of apartment for such a short stay.

Second have a look on previous posts for best area to stay.

The 6th arrondissement (St-Germain) or the 5th (Quartier Latin) may be suitable for 1st timers as these aereas are closer to the usual sights for 1st timers.

Also a good guide book (or info rigth here on TA like the Paris Guide you can download => see the box on the right-hand side of oage 1 of the Paris Forum) may be your best bet to get basic info on where to stay and what to see.

Most of the Centre Paris apartments can be rented for 3 days.

But I agree that for such a short stay you should stick to a hotel. Apartments have a "learning curve" where you figure out how everything works and with only a couple of days it harder to shop for food to take advantage of the kitchen. (but better still - extend your stay to 5 or 7 days and then get an apartment!)

There are several aparthotels in the city that may be a good alternative. It has the space of an apartment with the amenities of a hotel. Citadines comes to mind; others may chime in with others.
