We were excited to find that on the Versailles website, the calendar of events has a dance concert during our week in Paris (Dec 5 - 11). I was thinking how cool it would be to enjoy a concert actually in Versailles.
Our plan would be to arrive at Versailles in the morning and spend the day there. Versailles closes at 5:30 PM and the concert is from 9-11 PM. Our hotel is near the Arc de Triomphe, the Hotel Champs Elysees Friendland on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honore.
We'd appreciate you comments on leaving Versailles after 11 PM. For newbies unfamiliar with the area, is getting to the train and back to our hotel at that late hour something that is doable and safe?
Any comments about the concerts at Versailles? This concert is the "Grand Ball at the Court of Henri IV" - the new are of dance in the Age of the Enlightenment".
