Paris VIP/Limo airport transfer. Which?

Need a VIP/Limo transfer from CDG to Paris center by end of may, and as it appears to me, there are not to many services around.

If you know of any reliable services, I would be very grateful if you would share your experience.

If you would consider using a regular (and official) taxi it would be cheaper than a VIP/limo service. The taxi stand is located just outside the arrivals exit doors.

The Parisian taxis found at the taxi queue curbside at each terminal are very reliable and reasonably priced. Should you want a car service, these will cost a good deal more than taxis but there are a good number of them from which to choose:

Shuttle Inter is a private shuttle that charges 55 euros from CDG to Paris ~ about the same as a taxi but the driver is waiting for you as you exit the luggage pickup area at the airport and he knows where you are going so all you have to do is sit back and relax. Since it's a fixed cost, you don't have to worry if you get stuck in traffic, there's no meter running.

Also, no payment up front, you just pay the driver in cash once he's delivered you to where you are going.

We've used them 4 times and will be using them again in October.

We are using Paris Shuttle this month. 65E for private transfer from CDG to the Westin Paris - they meet you in the baggage area with a sign bearing your name. We used them last year also - a good company.

We are considering a car service vs. a taxi. Is there anything important to know about how to find an "official" taxi at CDG airport?

No, nothing special. The signage at CDG is quite good for taxis. Just outside the baggage claim area is the queue for taxis. There is often a man there directing folks to taxis, based on the number in their party. If not, just join the queue and hop in when a driver gestures to you. If your French isn't up to snuff, have the address of your lodging written down. Also, if anyone offers you a ride, don't take them up on it. I've never seen them, but rumor has it that rogue drivers offering discounted rides to central Paris can rip you off.

There is no need for a private car service. Taxis are perfectly reliable and are often cheaper anyway.

The only word of caution about taxis is to sure you are using an official Parisian taxi found only at the taxi queue. Do not accept rides from someone inside the airport terminal offering them.

Taxis are the closest transportation (meaning shortest walk) from baggage claim or the customs exit and the fastest point to point option available. Taxis (and buses) have access to special high speed lanes into Paris from the airport meaning traffic problems are minimized. Expect to pay 45€ to 55€ to most addresses in Paris.

Regarding the rogue taxi drivers there used to be so many of them a while back waiting for victims who exited into the arrivals hall. They were really pesky. I know they must still be around so do be aware and avoid them, but I've not noticed them lately the last few years.

Thank you. The information as to how to avoid the "rogue" drivers was just what I was looking for.

I'm happy to find a "real" taxi and use that to get to our hotel in Paris.

CaliBeachGal, if you do encounter any of the rogues just ignore them, pretend you don't see them.
